i believe you should pray to God and have him direct you where you need to be. If you develop a faith in him through reading a Bible, He will surely prove himself to be true.. I suppose you can try that with every religion you wish too and see which one actually proves true, but i just suggest praying to God because i personally feel as though he is the real deal. lemme know what you think

to live life you need to believe, and the only one that you should believe in is God. he created the earth.

he is everything you are. consult him in your problems and you will find the answer to your problem.

    Islam
    Christianity
    Judiasm

They all believe in the same God. So pray to God (you don't need to be in a religion to pray) and ask Him to lead you in the right direction :)

I'm Christian, in that I believe in God, but I'm not, say, Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, etc.
I also believe in following my heart, and that it is not right to make animals suffer and then eat them.
You're not going to go to hell just because you never found a religion, but be careful when you go looking for things to believe in, because some of them are very damaging. Basically, you have to use your instincts, as this is a very personal choice.

Having no religion...fine! Having no religion doesn't mean your evil or ignorant (it's actually the opposite really in this day of age; as quoted in another post).

What truly matters in life is how you treat others and how you show kindness, respect and all that other stuff that makes you good and whatever. XP

  • Taylor

I don't think there is a clear-cut best choice in this situation. It really all depends on what YOU want. Religion as a whole should not be the basis of who you are, and if you do choose one, keep in mind that you can believe anything you want and not what your relgion tells you is right. HOWEVER, I know alot of people who, for them, their religion is all they have. Its what makes them feel like they belong to something bigger. They tend to be stubborn and ignorant, closed-minded, ect.. but who are we to try to convince them that their source of fullfillment is a tyranny? Ignorance is bliss, as they say. If it makes them happy, then thats all that matters.
anyway. It's really up to you. Don't listen to your dad. No one has the right to tell another person that they're going to hell. No one, not even your dad.

In my opinion, if you're religious, fine, if you're not, fine. Don't try to force yourself into a religion. Some people need religion in life because that's what's best for them, and some people don't. Simple as that. People make too big of a deal over religion. It's ridiculous.

Angelina does it ever make you wonder why so many people possess a "faith" yet by definition have no evidence to base this belief on.

In a lot of cases they have been indoctrinated by there parents or society they grew up in.

I believe they have the choice to believe in whatever they want as long as they don't try to impose that belief onto others.

    Angelina Taylor®:

Just a fact that i was quite shocked about when i learnt it. Its about Jihad. Most muslims do not even no this but leared muslim scolers will reassure you its true, and its an arabic word so this is what it accutuaally mean.

They are a few meanings to the word jihad. I know the west believe it to mean "holy war". And they are right, it has a few meanings and holy war is one of them. But most people see the meaning of jihad to be ONLY holy war, i myself thought this is what it meant.

But the first meaning towards it, which is also known as greater jihad simply means trying one's best or hardest.
It is the harder jihad as it is done all the time.

The other definition is also known as the "lesser jihad" which means holy war. This in islamic law is only valid in strict scrict laws.

I know this because next year i will be sitting the Edexcel Islamic studies GCSE. Our teacher made it clear to us that when jihad is mentioned it means the first definition, not holy war.

And let me assure you, i do not believe that 7/7 was right, i do expect the suicide bombers in heaven. Like i said, jihad (holy war) can only be done in strict conditions. None of those conditions were met when those idiots did what they did.

Just a fact i thought i should share with you all. Its amazing that so many muslims do not know this fact.

I don't think that you have to 'Have' a religion. Religion is something you can have if you want, or not.

Personally I'm not religious, I'm more spiritual if I'm anything at all.
I think there is a higher power out there, I don't think it's God, but I don't know what it is either (Agnostic and proud of it).

So if you don't want a religion, then just stay where you are. But if you think you might then like people have already said do research and don't let anyone pressure you into picking something.

But I think Angelina Taylor is very, very right.

Even though I am not a Muslim or a big fan of the conservative right wing religious politics I did find this thought provoking

No other nation, except Israel , has more history and prophecy associated it than Iraq . And also, This is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages .. The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible) Koran ( 9:11 ) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace. (Note the verse number!) Hmmmmmmm?!

i dont think you have to have a religion
and i think you cant read books and decide on the one you like the most. you have to let the religion find you, also why are most of the people in here trying to force god on to jesi, there are other religions, just because you believe in someting dosnt mean another has to.
i think Angelina Taylor is right personaly

    Religion verses Angelina Taylor®

    Let us examine the facts;

Most data I have found shows that religion began at the dawn of civilization

The data Angelina Taylor® has provided shows Angelina Taylor® began about eighteen years ago

The Christian, or common-era has lasted over two-thousand years

Angelina Taylor® has lasted almost nineteen years

Most religions believe in a power greater than ourselves.

Angelina Taylor® believes in Angelina Taylor® as far as I can tell

Religion teaches that faith is above reason

How many of you that testified you believe Angelina Taylor® is right believe she is a power greater than yourself?

I feel that I have to say, that you don't need to be religious to believe in God. Einstein may not have been a religious man, but that doesn't mean he didn't believe in God.

So Ned flanders types have been around for 2000 years you say. I'll pray to Angelina at least she uses her own mind to question things.

If thats ok with you - Oakly Dokley

And if a few more people learn't from history rather than try to find spiritual answers the world would be a better place as well.

  • Michael D Nalley

“Michael, mate, that was totally pointless and illogical. You know, people 2,000 years ago did not have most of the knowledge we have. Common knowledge and logic, that is. Therefore, we are, to say the least, more reasonable than them.

"I'll pray to Angelina at least she uses her own mind to question things."

At least people believe in me! Yah!

Pray to me, my child. I'll do wonders for you.”

    P.S. I win.”

I believe you and the rainbow child whom seems to have developed her opinion of religion by watching a cartoon character from the Simpsons may have missed my point.

It is natural for the mind to question things. Yet it is very childish to site a cartoon character to represent two thousand years of tradition, which is honored by many cultures. A single human mind is not capable of creating a single truth. Religion as I have said can be used for good or evil but even RELIGION’S strongest serious critics have not denied that it is a powerful force

    EXAMPLE;
“Religions are screwed up and they are the [biggest factor or world conflicts]. Why want to be a part of something so irrational? Be what you are”.

"Q..What has killed more people around the world then anything else?????

    A..religion."

    What about natural causes ?

This next one should be moved to the humor forum

“Give me a peice of evidence that your religion does exist?”

I will.. but it is going to make you look more special than your chosen higher power

1 The Gregorian calendar, which has at lest some origin in the birth of Christ
    2 The Holy Bible
3 Marriage when not abused assures the family structure
4 Millions of people and structures known as churches
    5 Billions of SYMBOLS

I don’t believe it is ethical to destroy everything that can be used for evil even if it were possible

  • Michael D Nalley

‘Um.. sorry, a cartoon? Oh yeah, because that's the ONLY way I have knowledge. Did you not read my previous posts? I READ for your information. I don't ignore facts and I don't back away from research.”
Then research the posts right above this one, and you will understand that; Ned Flanders was introduced to this topic initially by your disciple.
    Elisha(Rainbow Child)
    date: 2007.01.09 17:02

”So Ned flanders types have been around for 2000 years you say. I'll pray to Angelina at least she uses her own mind to question things.”

”I've read the so-called "holy bible", which is actually plagiarized from other ancient texts. Do some studying.”

If the bible was not divinely inspired as you claim then who wrote the bible?

"You know what I don't believe? I don't believe it is ethical to kill somebody simply because you believe it's your must. I also don't believe people should be brainwashed"
    I agree.

    "Which they so are."
    right again

”Why not be exposed to all facts/theories and decide for yourself?”
    Exactly

The Bible is a book of stories put together to form a guideline for the law. It was never meant to be worshipped. And have a look back further than Christianity. Isis, a Pagan God, miraculously concieved a babe called Horace. Ringing a bell *cough Virgin Mary cough*. To me Christianity was loosely based on previous religions to relieve conflict (not that it did). I'm still agreeing Angelina Taylor.

    http://www.poems-and-quotes.com/search.html?search=Reaper+of+what+God+has+Sworn&submit=search

I was thinking about how sometimes B. S .may be interpreted many ways
Remember when the bible was being trashed on Pen & Teller B.S. they stated as a fact that the Hebrews were never in Ancient Egypt because there was no archaeological evidence

Mesopotamia refers to the region now occupied by modern Iraq, eastern Syria, southeastern Turkey, and Southwest Iran. The toponym comes from the Greek words μέσος "between" and ποταμός "river", referring to the basins of the Euphrates and the Tigris rivers and the area in between. Comparably, the Arabic term is ما بين النهرين‎ Ma Bayn Nahrain "between two rivers". The geographical area watered by these two rivers is often referred to as the "Cradle of Civilization",

Then Moses said; gather your flock and let’s get the flock out of here
Things were going pretty smooth until they reached the Red Sea, and Moses turned to his press agent, and ask him where the boats where. His agent replied he was too busy covering the most incredible story since the flood and forgot about that. Then Moses said what am I supposed to do, part the Red Sea? The agent said ‘oh lord’ if you can do that I can get you three pages in the old testament.

Well I am a sinner and a believer who believes that the most dangerous people on this planet are religious fanatics and one man’s heaven is another man’s hell I just read your poem “Highway 28 Donald that reminded me of a local ghost story

Without invoking the wrath of the mods I want to share this quote from Bob Dylan’s Highway 61

Oh God said to Abraham, "Kill me a son"
Abe says, "Man, you must be puttin' me on"
God say, "No." Abe say, "What?"
God say, "You can do what you want Abe, but
The next time you see me comin' you better run"
Well Abe says, "Where do you want this killin' done?"
God says, "Out on Highway 61."

I believe that most people make choices based on information, and it really helps when the information is correct. Religion is a spiritual path. How many people believe they have a spirit?
