I wander through the world,
Taking in the sites,

They're seeking out what's inside,

The things I see are beautiful,

Hold us from the light.

I view a soul so beautiful,
But the wrappings all you see,
Imperfection's not a sin,
The truth can set you free.

War and death and prejudice

How To Save A Life plz!

Ok ive never entered a contest before but i thought id give it a go.
Could i reserve "Confesions" please?

EDIT:
Well hears my try:

Today you will hear my confessions;
Five untold truths...
Today you will hear my confessions;
Things you never knew...

My first confession is a whisper of hate;
Felt towards the teacher's breath.
He abused her, ruined her life...
His one whisper called her near.

The next confession is a touch of confusion;
Inside of the deep dark mind.
Wonder if it was good or bad, right or wrong
When I held up that gun...

The middle confession is a messed up love;
How far would one go?
To help someone who you truly loved
Would you help give her back her soul?

The fourth confession is a rush of panic;
As I stand covered deep in blood.
Stare in disgust at his face
I turn and run - far away...

My final confession is overwhelming grief;
As I stand nearing her grave
Tears roll down as realisation occurs;
He took her life; so I took his.

Today you read my five confessions,
Each led towards the main.
Feelings made me commit this crime
My feelings are my confessions...

Waterfall please

Unpretty [Little Miss Itty Bitty]

Standing with mascara running down her face,
She looks to herself in the mirror, a pitiful disgrace,
And the words of all her friends ring in her ears -
She pieces them all together from her high school years.

"You've got such a pretty face, if only you were thinner!"
She recites to herself; "a person that's thinner is a winner!"
And the hatred floods through her icy blue eyes,
As she looks to herself, believing all of their pitiful lies.

On her hands and knees, she's got her finger down her throat,
She stops eating - listening to what the media promotes,
And she looks to herself, seeing a sad plastic mess,
Hidden under thick thighs and a face afraid to confess -

Of the dreams she so utterly fought her way through,
And her friends all look at her and gasp: "Look at you!"
Under her breath she says: "so long to being un-pretty -
Hello to ninety pounds soaking wet" - she's little miss itty bitty.

How to save a life

So you sit preaching
On how to save a life,
But ignore your teachings
Because your daughter sits alone with a knife,
And plays with it like the toys she never had,
And she is nothing but a stepping stone,
A blueprint of a broken home.

And the bells ring out for our salvation,
But I'm preoccupied with the station
And the promise that he'd meet me here,
But I've never learnt to adhere,
And don't really expect it in return.
I only needed a little concern.

So I gave up long ago,
And i never hated, although
Please don't count on my love
I was told I'd get that from above,
And I don't really know how to share,
In fact I never even learnt to care.

So I'm the first from last generation,
I'm the next in line for vaccination.
You could find more affection on the corner,
But you got the excuses of a mourner.
And the defence of a mother,
One who never really loved another.

So you struggle to get the conception,
That's not another exception,
It's not something you fail to grasp,
How to save a life,
It's just something you never cared to ask.

"God, I'm ugly"
I scream at the mirror
As I stand there naked
And begin to shiver

The mirror shatters
As my fist collides
I take a shard of glass and watch
As across my wrist it glides

My blood streams out
Staining the bathroom floor
I write a single word in blood
Across the door

"Unpretty"

Will I ever be beautiful
In your eyes
Or will I
Always be despised?

The bruises you gave me
Will soon fade
But from my hand
You will never remove this blade

This makes me feel beautiful -
This bitter sweet pain -
As I wrap this sheet around me
All crimson stained

Unpretty

You made me feel ugly
And I began to believe
Because love blinded me -
Your words were all I could see.

Now my face is
All carved and slashed
You have given
Your last lash

So, do you think
I'm pretty now?
I told you I would be -
I made a solemn vow

With blood dripping
From my writs and face
I hope you now know
It is me you will never replace.

How To Save A Life

Bruised and broken, she lays there and sighs-
"Why?" she asks, as she begins to cry.
But a voice comes in clear, and it's you;
You tell her that she'll pull through.

You know that you time is limited, but you don't care;
It's your last chance to admire her gorgeous hair.
The smile in her eyes; the feel of her hand;
You try to speak and make her understand.

But your voice comes out in a whisper-
It's the breeze that makes the leaves crisper.
You know she has no idea you're there now;
You know it can't last, you don't bother asking "How?"

You got another chance to make things right.
It's not for long, maybe only a night.
Seeing her before you leave was your last wish;
To feel her embrace and her tender kiss.

The tears are still streaming down her face-
As you lean in for one more embrace.
Suddenly, she stops and looks up, staring;
She was the one who never stopped caring.

She felt you with her, but she still couldn't see-
How extraordinary this could be!
She reached out, but you were could to the touch;
She wavered and used her bed as a crutch.

You retracted, knowing this wouldn't work;
You had to leave and you both were hurt.
She cries, "Why can't life ever be nice?"
That's like asking: "How To Save A Life."

Changes

I can see a look in your eyes
That wasn't there before
I don't recognize is at all
And you're changing more and more

You have seemed to grow up

I know that you are happy
I just can't believe it's so

I remember the way it used to be
I'm singular now, no longer a "we"

Remember When we were 5 years old,
And we first met,
Gosh was a long time ago....
we used to love playin in the puddles,
we would get totally wet!

Remember When we grew much older and
we though we were pretty old
That time we were at key stage two!
And on Sports day we used to win,
Tug of war, and also be screaming wooo!

Remember When we were in year 5 and 6
Gosh the oldest of the primary school,
Didnt we feel extremly cool.
We used to be the bosses,
And show everybody whats what!

Remeber when we got to high school,
and we were good friend until year 10!
remeber the fun we had,
drinking and staying up late!
I thought you were a very good mate!
You where even there when the boy cheats on me,
thankyou,
I needed you!

But do remember when we got to year 11,
And you found some better mates!
You thought they were awesome
there were 4 of you and
made a lovely 4 some!

Now coming up to the last day of school ever.
And the whole last year
i have been a fool!
From primary school we have been friends
but maybe it wasnt ment to be until the end!

So now here as we have both changed
and go on to do other things!
remeber that even though
weve changed
i still love you, even though your a little derranged
and will be there for you, always to mend,
right until the very end!!
