Change of Heart

by Jack Nightengale   Dec 7, 2013

Late into the night,
Close to the earth, the full moon is bright.
A lone vampire with her seductive ways,
Awaits her secret lover after his long and weary days.

She closes her eyes and listens to the wind,
She can feel his presence around the meadows bend.
Atop of the hill he stands,
Stretching out his furry hands.

A a beast to the vamps,
A monster under street lamps.
Her lover howls to the moon,
Her heart melts as he will turn back into a man soon.

Her immortal blood starts to feel warm,
As her lover will keep her safe from any and all harm.
Man by day but a werewolf by night,
Forever bound to the curse under the moon light.

No other beast dares to challenge him,
They know he'd keep her safe from them.
no demon or monster would dare compare their strife,
For he is at his strongest with love in his life.

Even though the vampires wouldn't approve,
She's willing to stand by him until that thought is removed.
Together they stand to face their own kind,
Hand in hand without a doubt in their mind.

Together they show a love so strong, so pure,
No matter what happens together they'll endure.
The clouds past as he turns beast again,
She holds onto his paw ready to erase her own kin.

The clan leaders of each side meet between the two races,
A pact of peace through forbidden love was made that changed faces.
There was nothing stronger than the love they shared,
On that day many lives were spared.

But the story doesn't just end there,
It continues in a different place somewhere.
Trapped between time and space,
A dream of two lovers in a different place.
