Last

This will be the last time I write to you,
You probably won't read this but thats fine too.
It sucks that I could never get you to understand,
But you showed me where we stood on the other hand.

For me, I was willing and ready to sacrifice everything for you,
While you would simply give me false promises that held no truth.
You showed me that I could never be enough,
You proved that you happiness lied with someone else.

Even when I tried to give you all that you asked for,
What I tried to ask for was too much and you made it seem like I asked for more.
I gave you respect and hoped to receive the same,
But at the end of it all, I'm the only one to blame.

All the time wasted on waiting and hoping,
Just to be thrown away and be the only one who has to try coping.
But it's fine and I wish you all the best,
But please forget me as I join all the rest.

Forget that I existed, forget that you ever knew me,
Because I was a fool and was too blind to see.
The real you was what you showed in the end,
And all I was, was a option who was to remain nothing more than a friend.

You can keep your lies and your empty words,
You got what you asked for and I'm left with your broken words.
I no longer hold on to your memory,
Because if I do, it will only break me.

So since you've given up and said goodbye,
I now know that you words of love were nothing more than a pretty lie.
Enjoy your happiness and even more so your life,
Your words cut deeper than any edge to a knife.

So long to you, and I truly mean all the best,
Because now your memory is an unmarked grave that I have to finally lay to rest.

"I now know that you words of love were nothing more than a pretty lie."

I think you meant to put your instead of you

The last line really hits you. Your writing gives me so much inspiration to keep writing. Thank you.
