Moonless

by Arunansu   May 27, 2008

My shadows grow darker
in load shedding. At times, a soliloquy
turns me to an actor.

I search for a battery lamp
within drawers, cabinets, cupboards;
feel the crowd

of pens & books
strewn over a table top. I stumble over
the existence under my feet.

My arms embrace
the floorboard. Its iciness recall
some moonlit moments.

I begin to see
a bit clearly.A matchbox reside
by the stack of your letters.
