Dream a dream for me

by Michael D Nalley   Nov 18, 2014

I have had ideas that don't belong to me
because I have come to know, my lucid dreams are free.
Some things I keep to myself , when I do not care
to relate them to the world or choose to share.
Once you've tried to bring something back from a dream
you learn that things are not always as they seem.
Some minds keep working when it is time to rest,
they tell me that winged creatures stray far from nests.
That many were born with innate skills to build
wisdom and knowledge passed from spirits strong willed.
Sunlight comes from heaven, darkness comes from hell.
Who does sacred divine light belong to, pray tell?

I find this poem interesting, and the flow is really good and enjoyable to read. The content is really thought provoking, yet the pattern of simple daily thoughts and an overactive mind, raising questions for itself.

I feel the poem could be benefited by adding slightly more punctuation, but that is just my usual picky opinion of punctuation lol!

    I enjoyed this, well done.
