Goodbyes

by Arunansu   Jan 3, 2008

[ This is a modified version of "End of A fenced path". ]

On the way to the terminus, I felt
there was something else
in the sunshine.

"So you have taken your all?",I asked.

"No, much has remained with you", she said.

"Yes, much!"

Looking at me, she told,
"Don't forget to take medicines, regularly."

"You don't, either."

She smiled.

That smile.

We have come to that moment in life,
when the past beckons.

On the crossroads,
the end of a fenced path
meets the beginning of another

I didn't know
we could stare at each other, so long.

"Take care."
"Take, care!"
