Like a Box of Chocolate

by Everlasting   Aug 20, 2014

I was like a chocolate box under your desk;
Hidden for everyone else, except for you.
You made sure that I was always at your reach.
Ready to please your taste buds.

But that's all I ever was for you
like a sweet and nothing else,
Like a chocolate that melted in your mouth
But nothing else.

I'm glad that yesterday,
your gluttony made you eat
the last four pieces
out of that box that was like me

And now that I feel empty,

I realized,
I didn't like chocolate,
anyways...

This is a wonderful metaphoric poem! This message has a few angles... one of sadness or loss of a friend perhaps and another of temptaion for choclolate is temptine... temptation in a relationship perhaps? Really enjoyed this piece...

One thing: In your last line...

    I didn't liked chocolate,
    anyways...

did you mean to say "Like" ?

    Very unique piece Luce!
