Better a memory than a friend

by keithnwv   Apr 29, 2008

I was there when you needed someone
you were always there for me
i wanted to see you happy and laughing
nothing more for us to be

what a fun time i think we both had
always knowing someone was there
to listen to our hearts when they were hurting
and our burdens with each other to share

times have changed , we've grown apart
i miss those times we had
laughing , joking, just having fun
i never dreamed those things were so bad

I've tried to forget , and tried to move on
just hoping my heart will mend
i sometimes wonder if you don't think
I'm better as a memory than as your friend

    Keith,

You have a great talent. I love how you reminisce even though it may be hurtful for you because those times surely are the make and break of us.
You beat and rhyme keep the piece going smooth throughout and it's always refreshing to see.
I feel that time changes us all some for the better, some for the worse.
    Take care, Em

Excellent message. everything you had felt great, so how could it be a source of pain? forgeting isnt easy but you manage but theres still that one thought that always leaves you wondering why she severed her ties to you. great writing. 5/5

    Some how
    this line

I'm better as a memory than as your friend

    rings my bell..so bad.
such an amazing line that i promise will stick to my head for a while..
u no bet got a gd imagenation.
this poem was simpler than the one b4,...but that line just added a huge impact in a beautiful way.

you know regarding the concept..time changes ppl..and ppl change with time..am not sure which one and i got a poem about this.
    but
what matters is what WE remain..and what we never forget.
