Unique Just Isnt Worth It

by Siro aKa Gaara   Aug 27, 2008

The cliche quote of the century,
You are unique, just like everyone else.
Its funny when someone tells you that
Because they think it actually helps.

Why do our parents tell us to be unique,
And encourage us to try new things
Yet when we branch and are different,
Look at all the trouble it brings.

Why do our friends tell us to be ourselves,
Because its our differences that make us cool.
Yet people in wheelchairs or with mental disorders,
Are labeled geeks and shunned at school.

Is being unique really worth it,
In this day and age difference is a crime
Punishable by death in certain cases
The worlds warning.. Different isnt fine.

This poem certainly made me stop and think a little about our world. Being someone special os indeed not alway something good...
This poem is really something we could all read and put out thought to it. The structure, rhyming and flow made it easy to inhale and understand.

    Nicely Written 5/5
