Books Of Blood

by Jessica   Oct 13, 2008

The cover is written in blood,
the words written in tears.
This book tells the story,
of the writers hopes and fears.

She's written of her dreams,
and how they never came true.
All the times she wished for happiness,
of the times all seemed so blue.

She tried to be happy,
for her own sake.
But at the slightest taste of joy,
her heart would always break.

She pauses in her writing,
and remembers a forgotten time.
When love was at her fingertips,
when love was almost mine.

I thought what I had was true,
I thought it was meant to be.
Even though everyone told me,
I was too young and naive.

I should have listened,
but I realized too late.
I should never have fallen for him,
should never have taken the bait.

He promised me the world,
whispered sweet nothings in my ear.
Told me that he loved me,
that I had nothing to fear.

When you look at me now,
all you see is a broken girl.
My final chapter is being written,
this is the end of my world.
