Undecided (Ana)

by Shattered Glass   Oct 29, 2008

It holds me together,
Yet tears me apart,
It'll be with me until the end,
When it wasn't even there in the start,

It'll keep me sane,
Yet make me go crazy,
It'll cut me to the core,
And leave me groggy and hazy,

It understands me,
Yet I don't understand it,
I stole me like a theif in the night,
Before I even brought up the courage to fight it,

It consumes me,
Yet leave me un-whole,
It's my own personal hell,
The way of my soul.

This could be an excellent poem if the idea were a little clearer.im not sure if the whole poem is about the way of your soul or something else. i like the former because it shows the very complex and conflicting nature of "YOUR" soul. there is also the matter of a dual consciousness between your self(conscious self;ego) and your soul(the unconscious) which both supports and afflicts you(much in the ambivalent spirit of nature itself which consists of good and bad, though of course it is so only to OUR PERSPECTIVE.nature in itself is beyond the divisions of our moral, which is to say say social, ideas

I wrote this poem in junior high when I was battling an eating disorder. I hope maybe that makes the meaning of this a bit clearer, thank you for reading.
