Nails In Hand~Quatern

by Poet on the Piano   Jan 1, 2009

Jesus knew what He had to do,
To open the gates of Heaven.
Crucified on a wooden cross,
Enduring the harsh suffering.

He was whipped and stripped brutally,
Jesus knew what He had to do.
Soldiers mocked His glorious name,
They spat on the face of Our Lord.

Yet not once did Christ turn around,
But instead took and lived with pain.
Jesus knew what He had to do,
To save us from our sinful fate.

A crown of thorns, piercing His head,
As nails were hammered in His flesh.
Angels from above mourned and weeped,
Jesus knew what He had to do.

Quatern~

A quatern has four stanzas, each stanza has four lines. Every line has eight syllables only. It doesn't have to rhyme, but it does follow a specific pattern of line repetition. The first stanza's first line is repeated as the second stanza's second line, the third stanza's third, and the final stanza's fourth.

Well well done. What a great poem you have here. I'm not sure what else I can say here, your emotions stood out very clearly to us, and I thought your flow was intact and didnt fall apart at all. Impressive piece, especially that you used a form as well.

    Well done.
    5/5.
    Keep up the great work.

I think of Him often and how he died and of how worthless we are, us humans..we still go on killing eachother and treating each other with so much disrespect.

I loved this poem, it shows so much dedication to our Lord, bravo:)

    Hugs,

    5/5 Ingrid
