Like A Lie

by Hallo A Lilium   Apr 4, 2009

It's like a lie that you continue to tell
Always pretending every thing's going well
The truth nestles deep within your heart
What's the use of hiding in the dark?

Terrible anxieties render you immobile
Deceiving everyone it's become so incontrollable
Back door landings are the escape routes
Minimal speech because it's all just too loud.

Makeup covers the imperfections of the skin
The flaws on the outside covered, but what about within?
A season of chill and icy cold weather
You walk on black thin ice but have never felt better.

Blue skies and eerie midnight masquerades
Another deception and endless escapades
A ride in shotgun calms the frayed soul
Though it's already apparent you are not a whole.

Trivial questions capture the artist's attention
Pictures obscured by an angry conniption
Break the silence and laugh with practiced ease
People wonder why you shade yourself under trees.

Delicate memories fade into black and white
Hardly matters but its wrong and its right
Tomorrow has a light that shines so red
All futile thoughts stay inside and are never said.

I liked this write. I thought it was really creative and unique. I loved your choice of wording and it was kept sort of simple, and wanst forced. But i must say that i thought your flow was a bit off in some parts though. But apart from that its an excellent piece. 5/5
