Eyes Never Close

by Steven Topaz   Dec 14, 2009

In my coffin
I have my rose
But I'll never know
If my eyes will ever close

Inside the darkness I lay,
Outside I hear the life I crave,
Until a new day, this is my home.
And this is the pitch that I play

Scars ache as my rose withers away
All hope is gone in the hole that I lay
Without my blues and whites,
yet my heart beats anyway.

Days from before with my new white rose
The faces that stay behind my door
without light and my memories frozen...
This pain and this suffering is not
THE LIFE THAT I CHOSE

In my coffin
I have my rose
I'll never know
If my eyes will close

The pedals bleed as I miss what I need
Remnants remind me as I remember my creed
A promise...
All air is gone...

Days from before with my white rose
The faces that stay behind my door
without light and my memories frozen...
The pain and this suffering is not...
The pain and this suffering is not...
THE LIFE THAT I CHOSE.
