Shattered On the Ground {7-31-11}

by Brittany Klein   Aug 14, 2011

Just when I thought
Life was turning around
Things started to fall apart
They shattered on the ground.
It took me by surprise
That I messed it all up
I was slapped in the face
And was told to start measuring up.
Not being responsible
Not being safe
Just a child on the street
Also known as a waif.
They tell me to grow up
And to start making something of myself
But the bar is about to break
That is holding up the shelf.
I can’t take much more
Of this inconvenience
My heart is going to stop
It’s time to call the ambulance.
Maybe one day they will notice
Maybe one day they will care
But as for now in this time warp
I’m going to begin to pare.
