Forest Feline

Once I was a black jungle cat
lounging with chin on paw
in the curve of a strong bough.

    Hello Jane

I was scrawling through your work, intending to choose at random but, in the end, I purposely plumped for this one because I am aware of you're love of cats (and I quite liked the alliteration in the title, which alone conjures images of jaguars and other forest dwelling felines slinking through the undergrowth).
I suppose the content can be taken superficially - that it is written purely to create a scene in the reader's eye, which it certainly does - but I couldn't help reaching the end and wondering if you mean it a little more literally. I am not a religious man, but the idea of reincarnation fascinates me as did this brief but mesmerizing little poem.

    All the very best,

    Ben
