Behind the Glass

by PinkyPrincess   Nov 12, 2011

They are analysing my every move,
dissecting each crumbling part of me.
Living underneath this microscope -
I cannot be who I was meant to be.

They judge all of my flaws and mistakes,
yet seldom praise me for what I've done right.
Sometimes I just want to run and escape;
I've tried to break through with all my might.

They photograph me all the time,
even when I'm a complete mess.
I wonder if they could understand,
for my rights - they could care less.

Living underneath this blurred microscope,
I have no choice but to shatter the glass.

    Oh, Sarah, I really like this play on images.
    And at first, the words awesomely reflected how people can be inhibited by the lens of the world, but at the end, no inhibitions!! Freedom.. and I sighed, you really transferred this image into words :)

    Way to go.
