73 Degrees

by Maple Tree   May 16, 2012

Exuberant warmth
of an elegant
sun
can be felt within
the breeze,
I begin to dance
as a spirit
whispers peace,
midst a lazy
summer afternoon-
calming thoughts
and bare toes
skipping along a
meadow,
as a soft rain
tickles me
in authentic ways,
I've fallen in love
with seventy three Degrees.

I can feel the freshness of nature while reading this piece. I love the title of "73 degrees" and the way you fitted it on the content of the poem. Very impressing:))

Yes, I understand what you feel. The serenity and the oneness with nature.

When my son was younger, we used to play soccer in the park on our bare feet and it brought us close to both each other and to nature. We all need to feel close to mother earth to be whole:)

    Very well done!

73 with a rain in the meadow sounds like it's so ridiculously relaxing. This has some powerful beauty!

I haven't been reading nature poems in a while, and this just made me crave for more. Each of us have different outlooks when thinking of summer and I really enjoyed reading yours. The beautiful imagery was kept alive by the soothing word choice. I love the connection of each words with each other. 'Exuberant' is euphonic and I love that as the opening. 'I begin to dance as a spirit whispers peace' gave a lovely image of joy and freedom; happiness, something that's been lacking in my life right now, and reading this gave me this inner feeling of happiness. So, thank you for writing this. Do write more.
