Life

by Marquesas   Jun 11, 2012

Pick me up, through me down
Do what you will with me Life
You've taken what I've loved
Put fatal obstacles in front of me
Teased me with promises of tomorrow
I am scarred, bleeding, bruised, hurt
But not beaten, never defeated
Every time I stumble, I stand right back up
I may wobble, or trip, but I will not fall
I am my own master, determining my own fate
Moving on, through a past clouded in dark deeds
Seeing through the blood, sweat and tears in my eyes
Who's to say what comes next
Surviving today is a quest on its own
I fight for my future, for my right to live
No matter how bad it may seem
Pain is temporary, hope is eternal

In the first line, shouldn't it be "throw me down"?

I don't know why but your inspirational/hopeful turns in your poems are always captivating.
Again you portray yourself as strong and brave yet express your flaws on top of that. It is straight forward, honest and amazing to read.

    I love the last line!!
