My heart I don't own

by Ibe   Jan 4, 2013

Getting my head out of water
a soldier is born

I walk the long road to recovery
but within, something is different.
Water has lost its refreshing capacity,
wine lost its taste,
and kiss is as a hand shake.

How can you console a person
who bleeds not just from the heart
but also from the soul?
The best friend to a blind is a blind

Trying entering another relationship.
But something is wrong
My heart...
It just wouldn't beat.

So I settle for a kiss to the forehead
and a whisper in the ear saying
''My heart isn't mine to give''.

The above is somewhat what I understood from this piece. What I gathered from this piece, is that the character from this piece was in love with some one else already, so he/she attempted to move on, but couldn't. So in turned, the character simply gave a kiss to the forehead to the best friend and said that his/her heart couldn't be given to anyone else, because he/she didn't own it.

I like the part about a best friend to a blind is a blind..

A person in love no longer owns his/her heart but it belongs 2 their lover. This makes it difficult 2 recover from a heart break. But d strong n determined recover nonetheless.
