Autographs (collab)

by Meme & The Poet Behind The Poems   Jan 28, 2013

With you there was no need
to borrow a pen, simply all you
had to do was look deep into
my eyes for you to autograph
my heart with certain beats.

And there was my love, signed,
sealed, delivered just for you.
I let go of "me" so there can be
an "us".. I had risked it all even
before realizing the facts.

But now I'm asking myself,
was the pen you signed with
permanent? I have replaced
too many names already and
this is the last piece of my heart.

I'll give my heart wings to fly
into your arms, so take my hand
trap our love palm to palm. Let
us sign our lives to each other,
written in shades of invisibility .

Such a beautiful write you guys. Seriously, love the title, love the metaphor usage here...love the part about replacing other names (Meme?) lol ...This shows how nerve wracking falling in love with someone can be after a heart has been through so much with other people. But sometimes we have to take that leap of faith to see if its worth it, to see if its meant to be...

well done you guys, I thoroughly enjoyed this read.

Wow this is beautiful. Great job you guys.

With you there was no need
to borrow a pen, simply all you
had to do was look deep into
my eyes for you to autograph
    my heart with certain beats.

    - the power of this love is just amazing, it shows how deep and connected the love is between these two people. I love how they can sign your heart without any ink. Brilliant.

And there was my love, signed,
    sealed, delivered just for you.
I let go of "me" so there can be
an "us".. I had risked it all even
    before realizing the facts.

    - I really liked this explanation because it shows the facts of a relationship in that we do give up a bit of ourselves and open up in order to become a couple. This is a very hard thing to do because liked stated above - you don't know what the risks are and you could end up being hurt. The fact that you have so easily connected to this person makes the risks all seem worth it.

    But now I'm asking myself,
was the pen you signed with
    permanent? I have replaced
    too many names already and
this is the last piece of my heart.

    - this shows the doubt and the fear of past history repeating itself. You really love them but will they be another name you have to erase after tha scars are made. The mention of your last peice of heart shows us just how much pain you have been through before and perhaps been let down by too many peeople. It shows you want to trust them and trust in their love but you also do not want to be hurt.

I'll give my heart wings to fly
into your arms, so take my hand
trap our love palm to palm. Let
us sign our lives to each other,
    written in shades of invisibility

    - I am glad the ending is when you both are together. A really nice ending to the story because when love is this strong we do have to take chances. I like the idea of holding hands symbolising the trapping of the love. Joining together and making it stay there.

Really good job you two xx
