My Athena

by Adam Murphy   Mar 19, 2013

The hairs on my neck
begin to stand up
as her blue eyes
pierce my own
on the inside i shake
i try to stay bottled up
afraid to fall alone
her hands against mine
fingers intertwined
somehow this makes us safe
just one soft kiss
and i know i would miss
this protection from life's strafe
as i pull her close
i feel i may overdose
from the perfection i must ingest
but to say the least
I'm willing to feast
though only on the best
