My Night Sky

Another day nears its end
as night dances around the horizon
my trust, my heart, slowly mend
as I gaze upon the moon stars.
I lay upon the ground next to you
I look into your eyes, then up again
had I not been holding your hand,
I swear I could see you amongst them.
Fly away with me, my quiet love,
in a sanctuary within the moon's light
remember, I promise as I hold both gently
my heart, my soul, is amongst their glow
yet I offer them to you silently.
Heed my whispered words, my murmured vow
I shan't ever leave you
for how could I, when you ask me to stay...
I open my arms, a slow gesture
you walk into my embrace
and as you do so,
I send a silent promise
to whatever force shall listen,
to love you truly, to keep you happy,
and give you all that you deserve...
as if I spoke aloud
you look upon the ground and whisper
to the tears I've shed while with you
that you love them and will send them far
and you will follow suit.
My love, I wish nothing more than to see you happy
and I hope I can do as such
I tell you with all of me.
As if the moon pulled me, I place a kiss upon your lips
and am pulled back to reality...
I look beside me once again
and gaze at our twined hands
you keep counting the stars
and quietly talk about their majesty
as I wish nothing but to be with you afar

that you are what makes up the beauty and majesty
in my night sky...
