Hope In Worry

by Maher   Feb 15, 2014

Time will fall like rain
From a sky that used to be
The stars will shed their shining tears
As the planets cease to breathe
Where rivers flowed, there'll be water owed
That the mountains will choose to keep
A conglomerate of ends, without a means
Perhaps that's how it seems:

On his porch, a farmer sings
Of the youth he once had lived
Sat by his side, his faithful wife
In memory, still with him
The cows look up, to see him down
As tears flow past his cheeks
His broken smile now falls away
As the memory slowly slips

To the furthest right, on the other side
The weather forces change
Towering columns of ice and rain
Hoarded throughout the day
It reaches down to touch the ground
And hence begins the dance
A solid bond of sky and ground
Forged of tempered air and chance

In it's path lies a cellar, locked,
To house them from it's scorn
Cold and damp as they lay in wait
For the dance to end in ruin
Her heart immersed in a state of shock
As she slowly parts the doors
To find her home still left to stand
Mercy from the storm

Time goes by at a constant rate
For a man born close to home
He works to earn his weekly wage
And saves it on his own
He knows it's not yet time for him
To have a partner or a wife
Though he holds that dream with haunting strength
As it'll come, in time, in life

If at the end of time, you have a seed,
Sow it, as it may grow
Do what should be done to find a plant
In the weeks that may well follow
Though the stars may cry and the sky might fall
And the planets hold their breath
The mountains could choose to let it flow
And a tree, you'll find, in the end
