And I told you..

I fear not myself nor the world,
But my heart,
For my heart is a slave to my ribcage;
a slave that throbs evermore
for freedom.

    Okay Lucero this poem packs a lot of punch. I really love well written short poems because you can say a lot with such short lines. Anyways. I never thought you could fear your own heart but it does make sense. Your heart really is a slave to your ribs and a slave to getting hurt and falling in love. But I believe this holds a deeper meaning than that. You want your heart to be free from all the pain and hurt you have gone through and that's why ot makes sense. It's the fear of your heart per se but the fear of emotions your heart holds. Beautiful beautiful write :)
