A Rap Poem:

by Scott Cole   May 27, 2015

What is the difference
Between a poem and a rap,
The answer is so simple
I can say it in a snap.

A poem is for the eyes
And a rap is for the ears,
How well that it reads
Or how good does it hear.

One makes not a noise
The other loud as heck,
One comes from the mind
The other from the neck.

One will tell you it all
The other one alittle bit,
One will be with words
And one will be with spit.

The words will stick together
The rap will break it down,
And tell you how I feel
With letters and with sound.

For a poem is of love
You can tell by the words,
But a rap I can not say
Now what was that I heard.

A poem is much slower
And a rap way to fast,
Which one is the best
I wish you had never ask.

For a poem is so romantic
And a rap song it is not,
Let me talk to your heart
Or yell it from my yacht.

So whether I do love you
Or whether I wish I did,
I think that I like you both
Depends on the mode I'm in.
