Fishing For You:

by Scott Cole   Aug 18, 2015

Years I've dreamed of snagging her
And holding her softly in my hands,
There's been many sleepless nights
Cause she ruined my perfect plan.

She's so timid and so shy
Sometimes I don't see her for days,
But that's exactly what I get
For letting work get in my way.

She's so beautiful in nature
A real treasure to stare at,
If I could ever get her attention
There'd be more time for us to chat.

For these are her stomping grounds
I'm not that familiar with her land,
So to take her home with me
Might take some sleight of hand.

Others before me have fell in love
And wasted a lot of precious time,
When all it takes to real her in
Is to feed her the right line.

I know that there are plenty
More little fishyies in the sea,
But with my fancy tastebuds
You're a perfect match for me.

One day soon she'll settle down
And start her own little family,
If I don't hurry up and make my move
To free her from that immediately.

The overhead sun is fading fast
And my chances are nearing an end,
But tomorrow I'll be coming back
To try my luck with her again.

For she's the grandest of them all
From as far as I can see,
So hopefully my next fishing trip
That world record fish will come to me.
