Truthfully

Thruthfully

The little youth broke the string of his hat
as his father hugged him and kissed him
for the first time
when papa returned from concentration camp.

He felt a lump in his throat
(his papa was still a champ)

And just think:
if society is based on individual sacrifices
that of war
in verity
is just an insanity

Each side creates heroes
truthfully
the hero is the one who
is such to himself

Still
the little youth
stays surrounded by the insanity
of those who do not know
that wars are won
only
by avoiding them
and a victor
truthfully
is the one who helps
those by whom he/she
has been wronged

No one should need to exercise sainthood
to know that

A great write. Soldiers etc are all heroes but we are all heroes in our own right.
