The Highest Bill

by Domenico Sottile   Apr 11, 2022

God intelligence
remains highly irate
at our negligence
for thou shall not kill
was the highest
imaginative bill
And yet the world
with weapons we still fill

To correct the travesty
from the belief of having
many fighting gods
we created only one divinity
But we kept the fighting rods
remaining stuck
to that insanity

By substituting
many fighting nations
with a universal one
-with celebrations-
will we find our peace

is it not so easily done
Should we not
our hopes increase
that love will not cease
