Heart Songs

You are the music
of my life.
The melody of you
beats to the rhythm
of my heart.
From the softest Brahms lullaby
to the crashing crescendo
of Tchaikovsky's overture,
you both calm and excite me.
-
My heart has played other tunes,
brought on by careless lovers
who took no heed or care,
left me over-wrought, keyed-out.
With my harmony in discord,
I gathered the broken pieces
and sought shelter
from the storm.
-
I have had so many different genres
of music in my life.
But it is only you
that truly makes my heart sing.
The harmony of you
completes me.
My heart finally sings its perfect song...

    Brenda, I was scanning your back catalogue in the hopes that I would find a gem that I had missed and here we have one. Firstly, let me apologise for letting it fly under my radar to begin with!
    This is a lovely piece with some lovely use of metaphor sprinkled throughout.

    I got the feeling that this song must be been written for someone beloved. The last segment says it all how comfortable and wonderful you feel with him. Oh, Wow! This love is walking with a smile on the song tune. Nicely written.
