You too should learn Kung Fu

You too should learn kung Fu
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

*needle lifts and rests on the vinyl record*

Hiss, crackle,

click...

"Oh-hoh-hoh-hoah...

Ha"

"Oh-hoh-hoh-hoah...

Ho"

"Everybody was Kung Fu fighting..."

*music scratches to a stop*

...but, really, were they?

Well, yes...

they were dressed
in their best
to impress.

Dozens of feet stepped up
into the shoji panelled room...

or was it a Dojo?

Eager eyes stared,
scanned,
looking for their
promised land,

the...

'Crispy Aromatic duck counter'

then...

A flurry of feet,
a stampede
for the meat

No, the worst fate...

Just enough for one plate!

The crowd oozed
kinetic silence
of tightly winding
violence.

Brows furrowed,
fingers twitched,
then a crowd of bows

the music continued...

"a feinting, to a slip
and a kickin' from the hip"

"Ha...

Everybody was Kung Fu fighting
Those kids were fast as lightning"

*music fades*

So,

Make sure when you feast
at your, 'all you can eat'
that...

"you have expert timing"

Because there will be days
when hunger depends, on:

    Michael,
    What a fun poem this was to read. This made me laugh. And like Em, I needed a good laugh today.This made me think of something from my childhood that my mother still teases me about to this day. I did not like my chores and put my feelings about that to this tune. I got busted singing it in the kitchen. Oh well, thanks for the trip down memory lane. This was wonderful. Take Care

    I was listening to this on Friday evening on my way home. I started singing (as you do) and thought of this.

    Michael, this is original and fun. Made me laugh and I needed to laugh as I have been ill this weekend, though not impressed you made me laugh so much that it hurt lol..
    All you can eat buffet's are bloody dangerous and we could use a bit of kung Fu to fight those meanies lol.
