Goodbye my son

by Ky   Feb 6, 2017

Although I never met you,
I saw you all the time,
I saw the pure discomfort caused,
To your mother day and night.
Never mattered what my mood was,
Whatever time or place,
Your mother placed my hand on you,
There was an instant smile on my face.
I'm trying hard to process,
The reasons yet unknown,
Of why you had to leave us,
Of why you had to go.
Many nights we stayed up talking,
About what you might be called,
Before somehow being distracted,
Caught up in love you brought.
Although we never met you,
Its more than safe to say,
You stole our hearts and changed our lives,
In all the greatest ways.
Your mother and I love you,
More than words could say,
And when we finally join you,
We'll show you everyday

Kyle, I agree with Ben. To review the technicalities of this poem would be an insult, suffice to say that you have written here a poem that touches ones very soul. I too am just so sorry for your loss, and yes, you will be reunited in Heaven if that is any consulation. I feel priveleged to of read this.

    Kyle,

I won't go into the technicalities of this piece as that would be an insult to the heart-breaking subject matter, but all I will say is that it's beautifully rhymed and really well written and you have my sincerest sympathy.
    Take care,

    Ben
