You're a song

by Beautiful Tragedy   Apr 25, 2017

You can't be fireworks;
Even as captivating as you are because fireworks are loud
And they can be dangerous.
You can't be the ocean;
Even though your voice is like currents that pull me into you
Because the ocean is full of dangers and
I can't ever see you drowning me.
You can't be a rollercoaster;
Because even as fun as they are they toss and turn you in your seat
And they have a tendency to leave bruises.
And you can't be a bird;
Because even as free and beautiful as they are they have a tendency to shit
On anything and everything.
So you're a love song;
Because your melody gives me the good kind of goosebumps
And every time you're around,
I find myself singing along in perfect harmony.

    As a rule, I'm particular of meter and rhyme. This, in spite of my prejudice, was beautiful. Thank you.
