Can someone tell me what it feels like to be happy?
Not just laughing at a joke but legitimately happy,
The kind of happiness that makes you stay up at night,
on an all-time high and no one can bring you down,
Your smile so bright it casts its light down in the tunnels where people struggle to see at night,
I've always envied happy people,
Are my sins so egregious that my own happiness wither like the wheat in the dead of winter?
I've learned to live with happy moments,
Sort of a compromise with the energies of the universe,
One day my stars will change and I'll feel that warmth in my heart I felt years ago,
Not only for only a moment,
But for eternity in this life or the next.
