Conversations With My Daughter’s Thoughts

Conversations With My Daughter’s Thoughts

Very often I feel my Down’ Syndrome daughter think
thus I respond

All those people fight and shout
but I must not brag
I hope no one takes
my important lunch bag

-If bragging is what you need
please go ahead indeed-

My god they are all so loud
can’t they cover their mouth
without a pout
My dad today after lunch
will pick me up
no bus
Why do so many clients fuss
and their voice down do not hold

Am I grown up
Pop

-Just like your sisters
second mom
and your Pop
every one can see
you are grown up-

If I drink water I pee
my dad and second mom say
drinking water is important
and good for me
You see
cleansing is needed to live
that is why I pee
I like making friends
Who cares if I pee my pants
I can always change my panties
my dad tells me of them I have plenty

My dad is picking me up
I like it when he does
he never gets angry
this is always in my fancy

-These thoughts are not lofty
but they have real meaning
and they are fitting
for true saints
are those we never recognize
as real lovers
are those we never love
and a true poem
is the one
which all and above
never rhymes-

Dad
why are people not perfect

-because god did not make them so
he made them to his image-

Dad I have a smile on my face
aren’t I also smart
in this place

-In this world
secondary no one is
nor less smart
I can promise-

Dad
is god down’s syndrome
up above

-I wish god
were down’s my love-
