Scar tissue.

by Rosy Cheeks And Irony   Feb 17, 2018

I am made more of scar tissue,
Than I am made of skin.
I swear I have less happy memories,
than cobwebs etched within.
I am made of empty mouthfuls,
Of mournful doubts and blisters,
I am made more of empty hugs,
Than I am of loving whispers.
I am made more of shadows,
Than I am of a fires flicker,
I am made more of empty highs,
Without any drugs or liquor.
I am made less of smiles,
Than I am raging storms,
I am made more of cold days,
Than the ones spent nice and warm.
I am made more of famine,
Of dead weeds and brown grass,
I am made of broken mosaic pieces,
I am cut all over from glass.
I am made more of relationships,
That never did succeed,
I am made more of regretful goodbyes,
Of scars that still manage to bleed.
I am made more of poetry,
than I am made from air,
I made more of lost things,
Than people promising to care.
I am made more of love for you,
Than I am made of veins,
I am made to love your quiet days,
I am made to love your hurricanes.
