Lopsided

The best kind of love hits you out of nowhere-
That’s what they all say.
But in my eyes that’s only half true because our love developed-
Built up over time until I’d spent countless evenings in laughter by your side getting to know you
better and falling in love with each tiny piece that I’d learned was
you.
I knew I was starting to fall in love with you long before I actually
did fall in love with you;
So that’s not what hit me out of nowhere.
What hit me out of nowhere was you;
Your gentle nature and your passion for people blew my mind and I couldn’t believe someone as amazing as you existed after everything I’d just been through.
It’s kind of funny though;
Because I was in the position where my heart was beating a little lopsidedly there for a second but somehow your smile got it back to straight.
