The beauty and the beast

by Ya----Na   Jul 9, 2018

Behind the wall of sleep,
we played as beauty and the beast
in untamed fire.

She poisoned my thoughts with oppression,
and I callously lit her tunnel
until our souls turned as yellow as the sun;
the smoke was coming out of our breaths.

I was pointing my arrow
at different parts of her broken body,
and she was howling in the midnight of summer.

Laws of motion were ignored.
We were falling freely above the stars
as there was no time left in our eyes.

I wanted to simmer,
but she was keeping my zeal
under her adherence for wanderlust.

And when I could not be able to wear
my heart on my sleeve,
I discharged the substantial cure,
and she found her happiness
in that fortunate fall of elixir.

Shane, you wrote this beautifully. I admire the mixture of fantasy within using such words as elixir (reminds me of Alice and Wonderland) along with wanderlust... magical word usage. The nature tones added in gives this a very pretty feel to what could have been a broken heart at the end in my opinion. Just beautiful!
