Penblwydd Hapus Freddie (Happy Birthday Freddie)

Penblwydd Hapus Freddie

Is this real life?
I once heard you ask
Raising the hammer to fall
Could be no easy task

The forever love lost
Was a high price to pay
But with all that you wanted
They moved out of your way

No flash in the pan
No radio blah blah
Headlong you forged
In crazy love’s fast car

A Champion you were, a Legend remain
Your works I revisit again and again
This life is no Opera
It’s a miracle I’m here

But you made it better
I can face any fear
As no matter the pain, no matter what’s wrong
I know we can share it, in the words of your song

Your life was a build up into
a crescendo!
Pardon the pun, no innuendo
So Nos Da good sir, your music lives on
Rhapsodic your soul
True bohemian

Everyone views poetry from different perspectives and many will have a favorite style and subject matter.
Some will simply read something and think that what they are reading is fantastic, regardless of the style in which it was written.

This was the case with me in this instance. As a life long Queen fan I couldn't help but like this poem.

Analytically, I found the way it tied lyrics and song titles together in a rhyming format to be 1st class. A very clever and entertaining work of reminiscence.

    Well done
