Scattered

by Guilty By Design   Nov 1, 2018

I’ve fought many wars inside my head.
I’ve bathed in red waters
In the ruins of what I believed to be victorious battles
But now I wonder...
What if all the blood belongs to loved one’s I’ve left for dead?
I’ll never remove these stains.
Look for me, I am scattered.
I’ve left a piece of myself everywhere I’ve been.
If you never find me
Take comfort in knowing
I surround you, even when I’m gone.

I love the sentiment here. Reminds me of a quote from Shakespeare's Caesar play: 'the evil that men do lives after them and the good is often interred in their bones' - something like that, anyway. The point is, whatever we do is left behind somehow.

    Take care
