How does it feel to be you? (not slang)

How does it feel to be you?

I sat on the paving,
Of a rainy road,
Staring to space and waiting,
To explode…

I couldn’t keep it all in,
It’s too much for me,
It’s just so amazing,
How you’ll grit your teeth,
Smile and breathe.

I’m not like you,
Even words hurt,
I’m not gonna come through,
With a tattered shirt,

I’ll fall before I start,
I’m not a saviour,
I break each time we part,
I’m not that strong,
I’ve the most fragile of hearts,
And I swear it won’t be that long,
Til I crumble all apart.

How does it feel to be you?
And do the things that you do?
How does it feel to be you?

I waited for absolutely hours,
On a darkened bench,
Watching the firework showers,
Tumbling over head.

I couldn’t stop the tears,
It’s too difficult to try,
It’s impossible to face fears,
How can you refuse to cry?
And dry my eyes.

I’m not like you,
The rain shakes me,
I’m not gonna come through,
When a cry can break me,

I’ll fall before I start,
I can’t keep running,
I break each time we part,
I can’t say it’s fine,
I’ve the most fragile of hearts,
It’s just gonna take some time,
Til I crumble all apart.

How does it feel to be you?
And do the things that you do?
How does it feel to be you?
