Shattered

by Brian King   Sep 18, 2005

Shattered is the way my heart is set
Shattered is our relationship I failed to keep
Shattered is how I take abet

Twisted is the image I dream of you
Twisted is the way I see your mind
Twisted is me, who I thought I knew

Flawed is our disgusting love
Flawed is how I see myself
Flawed is everything I'm a part of

Insane is the way I now am
Insane is the way I tried to fix this
Insane is me, a slaughtered lamb

Lost is my heart in an endless pit
Lost is my feeling for you
Lost is where I am, in all this shit

Fragile am I, so I sit here to cry
Fragile is how I though you were
Fragile is how you left me to die

You left me Twisted, Flawed and Insane.
I'm Lost and Fragile.
Without you I'm Shattered

I don't hand out 5s very often, and I was tempted to do so, here. This is a unique write with a lot of passion. You have avoided a lot of the stereotypes and clichés of lads your age, and structured it into something very compelling even for a jaded old rocker like myself.

    One suggestion:
"Fragile is I, so I sit here to cry"
    Should perhaps be:
"Fragile AM I, so I sit here to cry"

    Good stuff. 4.5/5!

I like this poem I like the repeatation in each stanza. I like the ending, it gave the poem an extra boost.
