This Is My Story

This Is My Story

The sun smiled this morning,
when I rose out of my bed.
A sense of joy surrounds me,
while singing to the shower head.

Birds were playing in the trees,
while I walked the lonely streets.
Every step I took got me closer,
to the arms of my beautiful sweets.

I had to see her one last time,
before she left for her flight.
I will miss her when she's gone,
but I know she will be alright.

Left her house missing her,
I had other places to be.
Toward the bus terminal,
to meet my friend Maddy.

The salesian reunion was today,
seeing friends old and new.
Spiritual journeys and having fun,
after eating so much free food.

The night ended in depression,
as I lost my precious cell phone.
My love leaving, my phone gone,
without them both I feel so alone.

All my friends helped me look,
we had searched all around.
From place to place we went,
in the end nothing was found.

A sad and disappointing end,
to a day that started well.
Ups and downs my life has,
This is my story I tell.

How stunningly sad! You kept my attention all the way through, and there wasn’t a moment it varied. I love your flow on all of your poems, it just has this beautiful essence. Great Job!

This is a good poem, I don't know if I've ever read a poem about someone losing their cell phone. LOL :-) You have a different writing style!! Good job.

    I liked this line:
"A sense of joy surrounds me,
while singing to the shower head"
    very nice.

the rhyme of new and food was a bit forced, but the rest well done

a very nice way of sharing a day in your life
