One Nation Under God

by Michael D Nalley   Jul 4, 2006

One Nation Under God

The prayers of our great forefathers are now shared
By descendants of the independence they declared
A birth of a nation brought by revolution
Formed the federal laws in the constitution

Remembering that day still causes us to applaud
The turmoil that lead to one nation under God
Beneath the stars and stripes the colors spoke so loud
As Francis Scott Key wrote lyrics to make us proud

Divided we fall, but you know united we stand
Maybe some day war will be forever banned
United under God, may we answer His holy call?
To share His peace, with liberty and justice for all

I really liked this... Your first two stanzas, though, were much stronger than your last..
