Tears like rain

by nicole   Aug 22, 2006

Tears falling like the rain
within the rain so much pain

rose petals the color of blood slowly drift away into the mud

a broken voice lifted in hopeless prayer drowned out by loveless care

loosing all drive to live
to the exhaustion almost ready to give

pleading solemnly for another chance hoping to ascertain Gods glance

just pouring a heart out so weighed down trying to shun this permanent frown

turning this world upside down to find a place to hide in

quickly loosing all respect for that abused term Christian

loving God with an empty heart
looking to be filled
and somehow grasp a new start
but dwindling is the will

shuddering violently from the cold a heart numb now

all this sadness is getting old
dear Jesus please take it from me somehow

finally warn out
the awful truth torn out

been trying to rely on my own understanding but for me this life's to demanding to figure out alone
thankful for the grace God has shone

finally Ive said it out loud
no longer ashamed
because Im making my daddy proud
this life doesn't seem quite so lame

thanks God for still loving me
for releasing me from this human prison

releasing my self from the swing
to which I had clung to for life

picking up crimson petals
in exchange for all my strife
