Yesterday and Tomorrow

by Truest Lies   Sep 20, 2006

The world is large,
And I am small,
Lost in between,
Space and earth,
Beautiful clouds,
And huge, sparkling suns,
Moons and planets,
In orbit forever.
You are out there,
That I know.
And you love me,
Through and through.
You make my world go round,
Though you don't even know it,
But you exist...
Someday we will meet,
I don't know where,
But within a glance,
We will know.
It's beautiful,
Just to sense that you are there,
But I get a tear,
Right there in my eye,
Knowing that we may never meet.
The world is large,
And I am small,
Lost in between,
Yesterday and tomorrow.
I swear that I will wait for you,
For many years,
But not forever,
Do you understand?
Please hurry up and find me,
Because after that,
I'm leaving.
I'm sorry,
It's just that the world is so small,
And I am so lost without you.

Hey. I just came by to check out some of your work, and noticed a fewer new-er ones that I haven't read yet. This one, being among them. I really liked. Especially the shortness per line. Few poems can get away with that, and this was definatley one of those poems. I'm not sure what it is, but it's the way I read it to myself - the short abruptness of it was perfect for me. I also really enjoyed how throughout this write, you were saying how big the world is... And you ended with how small it can seem sometimes, almost insignificant compared to dreams one might have. Job well done :)
