I keep going back, to how it all went wrong
I told my self I didn't like you, that I was strong
But we were so close; you were like no one before
You were the only thing left to smile for

Do you remember how I helped you through?
After your girlfriend dumped you
Do you remember I was the only one?
Who could make you smile and have fun.

Then came that fateful day at school
We were having fun; you were acting like a fool
She came over to our group, she was new
I didn't no you fell for her I had no clue

You asked me if you should ask her out
You trusted me, I told you no, I had my doubts
I was being selfish, but for once you were mine
No other girls in your life, it was like a sign

You waited for a while, you and her grew close
I knew you'd never want me, you wanted her the most
I told you one afternoon to do what you had to do
I knew how much you liked her so I told you that she liked you to

You asked her out the next day; she said yes, I swear I could have cried
As you gave me a thank you hug, I wished i would have died
You were no longer mine, and we did drift apart
But even though you love her, you'll always have my heart...
