Wishing you'd come home

by Chelsey   Nov 20, 2006

I screamed, I cried, I ran, I fell
I’ve walked a mile in her shoes, I’ve been through hell
I fainted, I coughed, I choked, I spewed
After looking at how she looks at you

Daddy it’s just not the same without you here
Why do you choose cigarettes and beer?
Your daughter is crying with no where to turn
Wishing you find your mistake and learn

You claim that you’re lonely but it was your choice to leave
Now your bored and I’ve been crying on my sleeve
It’s been two and a half weeks since that embarrassing display
I hate waking up without you every day

I pouted, I yelled, I punched, Tears shed
Remembering the day. Remembering things you said
I was hurt, I was blushing, and I hated you then
But now daddy I’m missing you and so are my friends

I have no one to talk to because they are lost for words
Mom wants me to see a therapist so my voice is heard
I’d rather you come home and change the way you are
So I can look at you like a hero and look at you like a star

Instead I smile in school and come home and frown
Wishing you’d call, wishing you’d come around
Please choose God if your so stressed with work
Otherwise daddy I just see you as a jerk

I’m waiting, I’m here, and I’m holding the phone
Just say the words, “I’d like to come home”
I’m laughing, I’m smiling, and I’m feeling at peace
Just thinking of hugging you and not wanting to release

what your going through. It's tough, I know. My dad left when I was 10 or 11, and I'm now 14, it's been very hard, but I know you can get through it .

I can't say I know how you feel, but I can get the idea of the emotion you put behind this particular piece of work. If you can get anyone to feel the emotion you put into it, you succeeded, so..good job excellent work :)
