Many and Few

by Lemon Squeezy   Feb 4, 2007

Many battles America's fought,
many lessons we've been taught,
There are many we have lost,
And they've been at quite a cost.

Many families in great pain,
Knowing their sons might be slain.
Knowing, they may not see tomorrow,
The men they let their nation borrow.

For our freedoms they do fight,
They fight for us with all their might.
They battle many scary foes,
Against everyone their courage grows.

There are few that do remain,
And come back to us again,
They return to us as heroes,
And untouched as far as fear goes.

The many dead outweigh the few,
these men are the heroes too,
Their lives they gave for me and you,
Now what for them shall we do.

Ought we make their work in vain,
All the burdens and the pain!
All the evil they defeated,
In what way should they be treated.

Treat them with respect and honor,
because without them we'd be goners.
when you wake and drink your foldgers,
Just remember our dear soldiers.

When you sit and watch your T.V.
Remember why you've got it easy.
It's because of those brave men,
Who will fight until it ends.

Many won't come home again,
Many go and then are slain,
But they know it's not in vain,
Because the stars and stripes remain.

We're a nation blessed of God,
A nation who some do find odd.
He's the one who keeps us free,
And He's the one who comforts me.
